In September 2008 thirty six transition year students from eight different schools came together for TENDERFOOT, The Civic Theatre's apprentice theatre programme run in association with Storytellers Theatre Company and South Dublin County Arts Office. Transition year is all about experience- new experiences and new ways of learning. TENDERFOOT offers those students interested in theatre an opportunity to learn about all aspects of theatre art in a hands-on way, mentored and assisted by a team of theatre professionals. And to a high level of achievement. The plays you will see presented have been written by the students, designed by the students, stage managed by the students and performed by the students. This is their work, developed and refined over a six month period. This is the work of our young theatre artists. TENDERF00T.
An absurdist and exuberant allegory wide open to interpretation; this controversial but revered writer expresses some undercurrents of political thought in post-war Germany. Alternately comic and scary, it can best be described as boisterous fantasy.
Lead Singer Chris Cavanaugh captures the depth and passion of Luke Kelly who died on 30th January 1984. He's accompanied on stage by a host of accomplished musicians which makes this a concert not to be missed. Chris bears a remarkable resemblance to Luke Kelly and his singing talent.
